How reliable is this telco, Movistar?
Movistar is the largest telco in Spain. It has been operating since 1995 and has operations worldwide under the Telefonica group. They are one of the major telecommunications players in the world.
Is this SIM card compatible with all phone models?
Sometimes it will prompt for a PIN or PUK number which can be found at the back of the SIM card holder. Please do not discard it because the ONLY way to unlock the SIM is by using the PIN and PUK code. Without the PIN and PUK number, the SIM card will not be usable. Also please do not use this SIM card in non-4G phones or very old models. The telco and network infrastructure overseas are constantly updated and phasing out old bandwidths hence older phones may not be able to use the network to its fullest.
Do I need to register this card before using it?
We will help you with the registration and activation. Please provide us your Name (as per passport), Passport Number, Date of Birth, and Arrival Date.
My trip date has changed. Can I change the activation date?
Yes you can. Please WhatsApp us at 60133991010 at least 3 days before your departure so we can help to make the necessary changes.
Oh no, I provided the wrong date and forgot to inform you!
Unfortunately we will activate the card based on the provided date. However, if you reach your destination within the 28 days validity period, you can still use the card. Just that it will have less days.
I am visiting a few countries across Europe. How much data will I have?
It is depending on the plan you chosen. For the 40GB plan, you can use all the allocated data in Spain, however if you are travelling outside Spain, the maximum data you can use is 6GB. For 80GB plan, you can use all data in Spain, but it capped 8GB outside of Spain.
Can I turn on the hotspot and share the connection with other users/devices?
Yes you can. please note hotspot only via phone to phone.
If I finished using my data, will I still be able to surf the internet at a slower speed?
No you cannot. We recommend using a new card as it is cheaper than topping up.
I can call any number with the 200 minutes call quota
You can call mobiles and landlines within the country you are in but not toll-free numbers or any special chargeable numbers.
Is it true that I can use this card in the 38 countries listed?
Yes you can but the speed really depends on each country's roaming arrangements with Movistar which we have no control over. But we do know Movistar is well established with strong roaming partners in these countries.
Can I use Whatsapp to chat and make calls with this card?
You certainly can. Using Whatsapp to call saves you money.
Is the data inside this card enough for my usage?
An average person consumes 4GB (4000MB) of data in a 15 days period. Much less if traveling overseas for leisure as most of the time will be spent looking at sceneries or participating in some form of outdoor activities.
