Overview

The Kansai Area Pass gives you unlimited JR travel around Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nara and out to Himeji, Wakayama and Otsu. Choose 1, 2, 3 or 4 consecutive days. It suits a self-guided trip, hopping between the region's best-known cities by train at your own pace.

  • Ride Special Rapid, Rapid and Local trains as often as you like within the pass area.
  • Nothing to collect: simply scan your phone at the automatic ticket gate.
  • Reserved seats are available on the HARUKA train from Kansai Airport, booked online up to three minutes before departure.

Scope of Application:

How to Use:

  • Visit the "WEST QR Dedicated Website" on your smartphone and display the QR code.
  • Scan the displayed QR code near the automatic gate to pass through.

  • Bring the displayed QR code close to the automatic gate scanner to pass through the gate.

Pre-trip preparation

  • Collect the "WEST QR Ticket Admission Voucher".
  • Access the "WEST QR dedicated website" via the link provided on your "WEST QR Ticket Usage Certificate."
  • Enter a valid email address, create a custom password, and select your country/region to complete account creation.
  • After signing in to the "WEST QR Special Website", a pop-up window will appear asking if you want to link your ticket. Please select your preferred action. ※You can also enter the serial number on the "WEST QR Special Website" to link it.
  • Reserved seats for "HARUKA" can be selected on the "WEST QR Special Website" and booked from 30 days in advance up to 3 min before the train's departure.
  • Note: "HARUKA" reserved seats cannot be booked at station ticket machines or counters.
  • Seats can only be selected from "WEST QR Ticket Dedicated Seats". If dedicated seats are fully booked, you may choose non-reserved seats or "WEST QR Dedicated Seats" on other trains.

[Steps for Same-Day Use]

  • Visit the "WEST QR dedicated website" and sign in with your registered account.
  • Select the tickets you wish to use from the ticket list.
  • On the ticket details page, tap the "Start Using" button to submit the ticket activation request.
  • The ticket details page will display a QR code. Align the QR code with the red QR code scanner on the automatic gate to pass through.
