Overview

Bukit Merah Laketown Waterpark spreads across about 11 acres on the edge of a 7,000-acre lake in Perak, which makes it one of the largest in the north of Peninsular Malaysia. It is a full water park rather than a hotel pool: slides, pools and family attractions, with shower and prayer rooms, a first aid room and a baby room on site. It works as a day out from Ipoh, Taiping or Penang.

Capped at 1,500 people Safety rules cap the park at 1,500 guests. On weekends and public holidays the operator asks you to arrive at least an hour before opening to be sure of getting in. Your ticket is valid for 90 days, so a busy day is not a wasted ticket, but it can be a wasted journey.
