Bukit Merah Laketown Waterpark spreads across about 11 acres on the edge of a 7,000-acre lake in Perak, which makes it one of the largest in the north of Peninsular Malaysia. It is a full water park rather than a hotel pool: slides, pools and family attractions, with shower and prayer rooms, a first aid room and a baby room on site. It works as a day out from Ipoh, Taiping or Penang.

- The park caps at 1,500 people for safety. At weekends and on public holidays, arrive at least an hour before opening.

- Pools and attractions may close temporarily in severe weather.
