How will I get the QR code to install this eSIM?

After purchase, you will receive an email containing the QR code link. Click the link to reveal the QR code. You must install the eSIM within 30 days from the purchase date.

Can I install the eSIM before travelling to Japan?

Yes. Install it before departure. Once you arrive in Japan and enable the eSIM, it will connect to the KDDI au network.

Do I need internet to install the eSIM?

Yes. You need WiFi or mobile internet to download and install the eSIM.

Can I transfer the eSIM to another phone?

No. Once installed on one phone, the eSIM cannot be transferred to another device.

Can I delete and reinstall the eSIM?

No. Do not delete the eSIM after installation. Once deleted, it cannot be reinstalled using the same QR code.

If I arrive in Japan at 10pm, will it count as Day 1?

Yes. Validity is counted by calendar day based on Japan local time. If the eSIM connects at 10pm, the period until midnight counts as Day 1.

Can I use this together with my Malaysian eSIM?

Yes, if your phone supports Dual SIM. Keep your Malaysian line active and use this Japan eSIM for mobile data.

Switch off data roaming on your Malaysian line to avoid roaming charges.
